Scholarship
Staunford Law works in partnership with you to develop a bespoke learning pathway based on your needs and skills. However, that learning pathway is difficult and rigorous and whatever your learning style, we demand the highest levels of scholarship from you.
Our programme rigorously tests many of the traits of giftedness. We expect you to have a complex vocabulary and to assimilate and use new terms. You should be questioning, asking why things work as they do, as well as being able to articulate a moral stance when their frameworks are challenged. You will have to be dedicated to your study bringing energy and enthusiasm to its completion, and being fascinated in dealing with and classifying ideas, exploring topics fully and in depth using your own unique approach. Students that have these sorts of traits will excel in this programme.
To earn a Staunford merit a student must earn 80% in their chosen subject tests. The tests will often include elements that are degree level of difficulty. A subject test requires the study of at least one unit from each of the following groups in a unit I, II and III. For example a Criminal Law Fatal Offences test would require the study of Criminal Liability (I), Fatal Offences (II) and Defences (III). Each test will be unseen and each test will only be sat once. Each subject has a limited number of retakes, generally 3, before further retakes are prohibited.
